Why I can't be an Instagram mum.

I wasn't terribly 'organised' before I had Elsie... by that I mean I didn't have lists of things I was going to do with her, things we needed, milestones to achieve, gadgets to buy etc etc. I'm a little organic in my approach to parenting. What happens, happens. What doesn't, doesn't. See previous posts about controlling controllables to see my general philosophy about these things. However, there was one thing I had told myself I was NOT going to do and that was to start a 'mummy blog'.

I follow some pretty rad mums on Instagram (side note, why do I keep wanting to write Mom?) and enjoy their day to day stories about the trials and tribulations of being a mum in the 21st century. These are some pretty spunky, personality plus ladies and I love them! (@eskimo_nell and @raisingziggy are my faves). I am not one of these people.

Top 5 Reasons I can't be an Instagram mum:

1. I have absolutely nothing new, fresh or exciting that you can't get from other accounts. 2. I am really shit at flatlays. REALLY shit.

3. My baby is really good. Like really really good. She eats well, sleeps well, does all the baby things that babies should. So I have nothing to complain about (which is generally the basis of a mum blog)

4. RBF. No one wants to see that on camera.

5. Terrible yarns. Like make no sense, rambling, using wrong words, mumbles. Ain't nobody got time for that.

BUT the temptation is there everyday. I love sharing. I love writing and talking. And I have A LOT of time to spare. I think oooohhh I'll post that on my story. Then I'm like 'no, no, no, Cassie, delete now! No one wants to hear about how Elsie can almost roll over, or how I actually found a pair of matching socks.' I am managing to resist. Most days...

But on a more serious note I am yearning for something a bit more substantial to be working on/towards. Some meaty goals to be breaking down and smashing. So I've been doing a little work behind the scenes, and putting a plan in place to help with this. One was to blog more often. I have a list with a few ideas for posts, and hopefully more will come to me. If there's something you think would I would enjoy writing about, let me know! If you read this, also let me know! While writing for yourself is cathartic and fun, it's also great to have an audience and purpose.
